Anyway, to touch on things that have been happening, well, nothing much actually. School’s still a chore (and a bore), still having an assignment that is overdue, a quiz that I managed to convince the lecturer to let me take a re-test (because I missed it due to illness but the doctor refused to grant me a MC) and my project is running behind schedule.

Training-wise ain’t that good either since my back has begun to hurt really bad recently and someone said that I might have a slip disc or something. To think that we are going to have friendlies with NP this Saturday. My arms feel flabby already

Friday was dear Jolene‘s 18th birthday as well as the start of SPCT camp.

We had a lunch celebration with the team. And Jo’s classmates surprised her with a hawaiian pizza with candles

I was a GL with Lex and this year, I had the largest group of 11 campers. Ichi (as in one in Japanese, and which we called ourselves) consists mostly of enthusiastic and pretty sporting freshmen which I’m glad to have. But I guess I started the camp with a lot of energy that gradually winded down by the end of the first day.

After ice breaking games, the first major activity was Amazing Race @ Orchard. We had to run around different stations located around Orchard Road and the group that gets back to school first wins.

My group’s first stop was at Lilin‘s station located around The Atrium@Orchard. This station came from the idea where we cam-whored during Artello’s pre-Valentine’s Day celebrations. What we are supposed to do is convince a stranger that Lilin describes (e.g. a man in green shirt) to take a group picture for us.

After that station, I kind of grew tired of the whole thing and gradually became part of the group, only doing my job as a GL when need be. (I know. Totally not what I’m supposed to do but I could not help it! I was just too tired.)

I guess I should be thankful that Ichi is a pretty slack group as well Sure, we’d like to win, but to us, winning isn’t everything as long as we have our fun

We were the last to reach school (12 midnight!) and then we had night water activities. After wrapping up for the day, we (Artello minus Lilin) took our showers and headed back to the studio for Jo’s surprise celebration.

Saturday, the freshmen were to try out canoe sprinting over at Kallang and we girls had our own polo training. Training was okay, I guess. I managed to keep better since I more or less knew how my own teammates shoot. Chasing-wise, not that great since I did not do gym this week.

After training, I was quite exhausted and instead of going out to Clementi to eat, I ended up sleeping in the studio for a few hours until dinner time. We had to change into our secondary school uniforms for the Uniform Party that night.

The night activities were Scavenger Bingo, Pass the Card, Night Walk and Disco Night. But I was far too tired to join in the last activity and promptly took a dry bath and went to bed

After breakfast on Sunday, the freshmen went down to the pool to try out canoe polo. We divided them into two groups to change between water polo at the medium pool and canoe polo.

The they had friendly matches between the groups. After in which, a number of the freshmen guys played against us (Artello). Joycelyn was eager to trash them and spread the word around. I thought it funny but during the match, I told the girls to play serious but less aggressive. Joycelyn had wanted to go all out to attack, giving them no chance to attack.

Then, we had the prize presentation and finally, we broke camp. I think all of us but especially Joycelyn and Jolene were especially happy since the whole camp took a lot from them with the planning and organizing.

After washing up, we went back to the studio to slack for a while. Jo received this cow umbrella from Sue and we found it really amusing.

Artello finally decided to head to the foodcourt at Plaza Singapura for lunch. Jo and I ended up being scavengers and eating up everyone’s leftovers

Not wanting to head home just yet, Joycelyn, Geok, Jo, Joan, Teresa and I decided to go over to The Coffee Connoisseur at The Atrium@Orchard.

There, our mascot, Michael, was born. Ok, firstly, he is not even named Michael in his birth certificate but Mojojo instead. Secondly, he belongs to Jo since it was her birthday gift from Fahmi. But, whatever, we all adored him and therefore, he is Michael.

By the way, Michael is a senior (who recently just graduated) in the team. To me, Michael (the senior) will always be the one looking like a monkey with sexy girl’s legs, a fat tummy plus a megawatt smile in which our mascot Michael posseses minus the legs and the smile.

Not really looking forward to the re-opening of school to be honest. On Sunday, the day before school starts, SPCT had a team dinner at Marché at VivoCity.

It was a tad disappointing (food-wise, that is) because there is no more pizza and the cooked vegetables. Besides Rosti, there wasn’t any other thing that I was keen on eating. Furthermore, that place is much, much smaller than the former outlets at Heeren and Suntec City.

After most of the seniors have eaten something, they decided to go somewhere else to have their fill (since the food selections at Marché were limited and not to mention rather pricey) with most of the junior guys.

School has been rather blah for the past two days. I just have an hour lecture on Monday, no classes (but a meeting) on Tuesday, and later on, I just have one elective lecture which will probably take less than an hour.

Also, SRRR has been pushed back by a week! More time to train!

One of the things I hope to achieve this year in 2007 is to blog more regularly. So far, it’s not going as planned, I’m afraid. It seems like too many things have happened between the last post and this. Too many events, too many feelings. Too confused, lost and hurt. But, gah, I wish I could do something about… everything.

I watched Death Note 2: The Last Name on Wednesday night. It was a nice movie that I’ll probably only watch it once. I think I still prefer the manga better.

I love Absolut Vodka And the SPCT chalet from Wednesday to Friday sure provided me with Raspberri and Vanilla The thing is that I kinda mixed it with ice cream soda not to mention having Chivas with jasmine tea, I got a little too tipsy I got better in the end but not after vomiting, suffering chills and a splitting headache. Meeh. I wonder how everyone could put up with me

Dancing with Joan in the chalet was pretty fun But I hope Mervin won’t go around showing everyone the video he took. It’s really embarrassing I guess that’s where I first heard “Maneater” and “SexyBack” from Lex’s cellphone. Now these two songs are on my playlist.

Friday night was an overnight date with the 7ners plus boyfriends at Albert Court Hotel. It was quite a reunion as Pei Wen and Jun Wei were back from Australia (and since Up swore he would not go for another 7ners gathering till Jun Wei was back, he’s definitely glad the latter’s back) not to mention we have Qing Xiang and Zhao Ming joining us. Perrine, chief organizer of the whole event, along with Elisia, CJ and Pwen had made the rest of us play some couple games which were really fun as well as it broke the ice among everyone. As long as there’s Up and alcohol in the same room, there will always be Up’s drinking game.

“I’m fine, thank you.”

Due to the previous night’s post-drinking session as well as the fact that I was sneezing (almost) non-stop, I skipped this round

Lacking sleep since Wednesday, I could not stay up with the girls for a chat-and-gossip session. So I kind of nodded off around 4 in the morning as I wanted to go for training the next day. But I woke up with such a lousy leaky nose that I decided that I needed the rest more than the training session.

Sunday was a lousy day. Period.

I had a mock interview for a module on Monday so I had to borrow Jolene’s shirt since we were about the same size. When she found out I was going to wear a skirt (technically, there were shorts beneathe the skirt) she got so excited and demanded to see me in my formal attire I obliged her and here’s the picture Sue helped us take:

After class, I met Jun Wei to watch Night at the Museum. Although it’s funny, it’s a pretty touching movie. I can even say if it was any less funny, I could just bawl in the theatre

We had dinner at this really fancy place called Giraffe. Surprisingly, I could not find a single main course on the menu that made me interested. Somehow, if I liked something, there is always some other weird combination to not make me what that item after all

I was pretty tempted to get the lasagne but it had beef (Soffie got it and let me have some. A definite to kill for!) so I settled for some Japanese-Korean glass noodles with mushrooms. The serving was not large but I could barely finish up the last few forkfuls because the meal made me feel rather full with the amount of oil and gravy. (Which makes me wonder why Perrine did not feel the same way since we had the same thing.)

I feel really silly for letting slip about saving my stomach for the cake. It was meant to be a surprise! Arg!

But the cake was really lovely. Home-baked chocolate banana cake. Kudos to Amanda’s godmother!

Elisia did her usual here’s-what-I-got-for-you-in-one-of-my-overseas-trip thingy and gave us Milky Way bars, Ice Cream Skittles (Limited Edition), cherry-flavoured Hershey’s kisses and Starbursts (my favourites!)

First day of e-Learning week and I spent the day sleeping at home. Cough syrup is a great replacement for sleeping pills. e-Learning sucks, by the way. I would rather go school than have another 101 assignments dumped at me. Rawr.

Just. Great.

School can be summarised in one word: bo-ring.

The only thing that makes me attempt to wake up and drag my tired body to school is the fact that trainings are fun thanks to the junior girls.

I had no sleep on the night before the chalet so after gym training on Tuesday, I had to take a few winks on the train ride from Dover to Pasir Ris.

When we got into our room, we started changing into our pyjamas for the PYJAMAS PARTY! We took crazy pictures in which I was not involved in them since I was busy playing Shrek 2 with Joycelyn on Xbox in which I had rented earlier. The others did really weird and hilarious stuff with the toilet rolls and pillows.

After taking a ton of pictures, we settled down to watch Mean Girls on Jamie’s laptop (since we needed an adapter to watch it on Xbox. Thank God for Jamie’s lappy!)

However, since I was dead tired, I fell asleep after the first 10 minutes or so! I only woke up around 1.30 p.m. the next day to find that all but Teresa had gone out. I found out some of them had gone swimming. When they returned, Jamie, Joan, Joycelyn and Jolene (all the J’s, I just noticed) wanted to go cycling and since Lilin and I brough our rollerblades along, we decided to go blading as well.

After we rented the bicycles, Joycelyn suggested cyling/blading to a nearby coffeeshop to eat ba chor mee (minced meat noodles). But when we reached there, none of us felt hungry. So we ended up drinking bubble tea and sharing a bowl of ba chor mee.

After that, we rushed through our showers and changed into our #38 tops because we wanted to give a surprise birthday party for Joycelyn before she rushed off for home as she needed to work the next day.

We wanted to go bowling only to find out that the bowling alley had closed down six months ago! So we settled down at Burger King and started talking about ghost stories we have encountered or those we heard about our school.

We headed back to our room later to talk about more stuff, laugh about more stuff, and eventually, drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, we washed up, packed up, called out “Who wants to bring home this?”, ate the watermelon Jamie got for us, watched cartoons and finally headed out with our stuff, leaving the garbage and the mess behind us

They were surprised that I did not find out about their plans. I blame it on my blur-ness and slowness. Also, the lack of anticipating anything.
