Looking at cute little girl items from this Etsy store just makes me wish for a girl sooner than I’d like! Though I wouldn’t dress her up in pink or over frilly dresses and such, the images from the store just makes me want to stare and dream

The weekend was an exhausting one since there was a double celebration for Zayden Asher’s first birthday Here’s a sneak:

Admittedly, when I was a young girl, (yes, I was once a young girl) I did dream that I could be a little fairy girl. Not like Tinkerbell though; she seems bratty. A fairy with blue wings, a silver crown and a blue dress.

I’m starting on an old show, but it’s new to me since I’ve never heard of it before. Fawlty Towers has been making me laugh out loud so far (even though I’m on the first episode).

Invites for Zayden Asher’s first birthday party has been sent (being the tech-y person, I texted message instead of sending tangible invites) and I’m feeling a little excited now

In our last meet-up (more than a year ago), Rey was telling me about this awesome anime that I should totally watch. That anime was Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

It was only a couple of weeks ago I managed to get the whole thing so I started watching a couple of episodes on Monday and finished the rest yesterday. Yes, I watched 25 episodes yesterday. Like whaaat?!

To be honest, I wouldn’t have picked this and followed it through. I was more of a Fullmetal Alchemist and BLEACH fan (although I haven’t followed the latter in a really long time). But when Rey told me most of the storyline and what happened in the show, I couldn’t help but catch some of his enthusiasm.

It’s a pretty good and short anime (not like those that have over 200 episodes, always littered with lousy fillers) about human evolution.

Gurren Lagann takes place in a fictional future in which human beings have been forced under Earth’s surface and live in isolated subterranean civilizations. These “villages” have no contact with the surface world or other villages.

Giha Village, one of the underground villages, regularly experiences earthquakes; because these earthquakes damage infrastructure, the village must constantly extend deeper into the earth—individuals relegated to this task are known as “Diggers”. Giha Village is the home of Simon, a fourteen-year-old digger who was orphaned when his parents were killed in an earthquake. Recently, while chatting online, he was telling me about another awesome anime—Eureka Seven and I started watching it today. At the moment, I’m in the 10th episode

I’m still trying to figure out the anime but you can read it up on wiki. What sort of sparked my interest was that Rey mentioned they surf in the air. They surf in the air! How cool is that?

He also mentioned that the female protagonist, Eureka, reminded him of me

Okay, back to Eureka Seven

Admittedly, I (somehow) do notice pretty girls more often than cute guys.

As I was browsing through my Google Reader, I came across a post which led me to this shop called ban.do; yes, I was attracted to the model who carried the accessories rather well.

This was the first photo that caught my attention though I do not like the accessory.

A really sweet look (that I will never be able to pull off). This particular piece is not really my thing either.

But this—gosh—this totally got me. Yes, I got it.

Uh, yes, that was all.

On a side note, Nicole and I went to watch the first qualifying round for the Women’s Gymnastics (Artistic) at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) held at Bishan Sports Hall. It was really cool. Now we regret that we can’t watch the finals live since it cost quite a lot

I know I should probably be angry with them (like how a lot of parents are at the moment, as they express it freely on the event page, and the organizers keep deleting those complaints. Actually, it’s quite hilarious.) But I don’t know why I find the whole thing rather funny

I personally feel that the whole thing wasn’t really well organized nor thought through. I mean, they didn’t even state what the prizes were! (And it didn’t occur to me until my friends asked what Zayden Asher would win.) There wasn’t a set of proper guidelines nor rules, thus, the spamming and flaming flooded the comments. (I wouldn’t really say flame but the spamming was just advertising, right? After all, they didn’t state that it wasn’t allowed.)

Anyway, I personally feel like I jinxed it by entering Zayden. It always happens to me

I’m not sure what this month can bring. After all, I have always quite liked June since I was young. The long holidays must have something to do with it. Or maybe it’s my birthday. Anyway, June is awesome!

Now that Zayden Asher is growing up, I sort of miss him when he was a newborn. All small and snuggly, not struggling to get out of my embrace, not-so-smelly poop (minus the watery parts and staining his clothes half the time), really tiny hands and feet…

It makes me feel like wanting a newborn all over again But that’s definitely not going to happen any time soon! Those who have met me over the past few months would know that Zayden just tires me out and I’m always complaining about not having time to do my stuff. (Not that I’m complaining about him. He’s such a dear.)

Anyway, I saw this on an e-newsletter and I am sooo tempted to get something for him!

(Pause for a bit. I’m very distracted by an old re-run of a local drama serial (The New Adventures of Wisely). Casting great, old stars like Li Nanxing, Zoe Tay (I love her!), Phyllis Quek, Yvonne Lim (I love her, too!) and Hong Kong actors Michael Tao and Patrick Tse. ZOMG! They are actually playing Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” in this scene?! )

Anyway, ever since I was pregnant, I have some deep fascination with baby feet. They’re so tiny and cute and very, very smooth. When Zayden was born, his feet was smoother than his skin!

(Another distraction. Has anyone seen the new commercial for GATSBY’s facial wash? It’s so funny even Zayden laughed at it. Oh, Adventures of Wisely is back on again. I wish there was English subtitles on these midnight re-runs. I still can’t understand what they’re saying half the time )

When I get what I want! Haha… Not really. When I feel loved, doing what I love, and loving those around me.

2. How do you take care of yourself?
I’m terrible at this. I snack most of the time and forget my meals sometimes. I guess I am trying to stay positive with the right mindset.

3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?
I believe I need to be externally motivated. But, ultimately, I’m still internally motivated. I have to convince myself to do things then things get done

4. What do you do for fun?
I find this a rather tough question now because I can’t find the time to enjoy anything fun! But I love photography, cable-skiing and getting crafty

5. What intimidates you?
Social gatherings where I’ll usually feel awkward among strangers and second degree acquaintances.

6. What is something you’re proud of?
Getting my diploma. It’s weird but I had always thought that I wouldn’t complete my studies in that way
