My sister returned this whole stack of DVDs I’d lent her the other day and as they were sitting around the floor (totally not back on the shelf yet), I decided to watch them. Yesteday, it was Toy Story. But he got bored after the opening scene (I actually quoted every line out loud!) Guess what today’s Pixar movie was?

And, yeah, I watched High School Musical 3: Senior Year twice in theaters in a day

Basically, it wasn’t too long ago. But last Saturday, I watched two movies in a day. (And, I can’t find a link between the previous paragraph and this. Then again, I can be very random and say things that have totally no link. My colleagues realized this recently when I kept jumping from basketball to my mom to the weather. Really. I’m such a sad kid.)

After our shift on Friday, Charlene started persuading everyone else to catch a midnight movie. We were all going, “Is there even a showtime at four in the morning?” And it turns out that there are shows and I really wanted to catch Hellboy 2: The Golden Army but we missed it by about 15 minutes So we caught Hancock instead.

It’s not a great show to spend $10.50 on but it’s quite cool. The plot is quite… different, I think. Jianling, Allan and I fell asleep since we were so tired. But I enjoyed it because Charlize Theron is HOT

By the time I got home, it was about 7 and I slept till 6 in the evening because I was going to watch Hellboy 2 with Andrew and some of his friends

Hellboy 2 was cool! I never watched the first one and the only reason why I wanted to catch the second was because I saw the trailer and it looked pretty neat. The Red Guy is really funny. Saufi and I liked the way he handled things—giving a punch to the opponent in the middle of a sentence

It wasn’t fantastically fantastic. Still, I enjoyed the movie.

On a random note, Simpang Bedok is a recent chill out place, again.

Anyway, I have much to blog but since it has passed (and it was rather long ago), why bother? Anyway, I have a brand-spankin’ new Sony DSC T300. And, as Sabrina (from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) would go: “WHOO HOO!”

(You have to forgive me. I have been watching seasons 2 to 6 whenever I did not feel like doing anything this holiday.)

Before I forget, Happy Birthday Shane! I know you’re an old man but that’s still no reason to carry on living like one You’re a really cool dude with a great temper and a fun person to be with. Your laughter is like, darn unique and I can always hear you at the other end of the bar Cheers, dude! (And it’s not like you’ll ever read this anyway.)

Back to the topic: Juno.

When I wiki-ed that, I got a Roman goddess and my birth month. But what I really wanted to find was this:

Yeah, I know. It took me forever to find time to go to a theatre just to catch a movie. What more everyone else I knew had already caught it and people who have not are not into dramady and those who have not just do not have the time to. I know, how sad can I be?

Usually, I try not to watch them not only because I do get scared but because I laugh out loud at the scary parts.

As it was the first show of the day, I dare not laugh since there were only three other strangers in that small theater.

So there was this part of the movie where I was (unexpectedly) scared and I grabbed my sides so hard I think they’ll be bruised tomorrow

Food was great! Great because they had my macaroni and cheese I remember back in the past, I refused to eat Kenny Rogers if they had no mac and cheese.

The Man paid it all and refused to take any of our money. He said that all we needed to do was train hard for National Championships.

There was this point where Jolene and I went to 7-Eleven to grab some drinks and the cashier kept giving us this rather amused look. He kept looking back and forth between Jolene and I and I thought he wanted to check my ID or something (since I was buying this really small bottle of vodka) and probably thought we were below 18.

All of a sudden, he went, “Youngest?” and nodded at Jolene’s direction. It took me a whole second for my gears to click in my brain.

“Yeah,” I grinned at him. It’s easier to just say yes than go through the whole process of explanation

After dinner, we went to Esplanade to talk and slack around. Well, and to take pictures, too

Team movie was not much of a team thing since Lilin and Lizhen were not present. But we had fun watching PotC3 with Desmond, Daren and Jun Wei.

The movie itself was interesting. I was never interested in PotC until the trailer for At World’s End came. And, no, I have still yet to watch the first two.

If you asked me, I would not mind watching it again. I especially like the marriage part. But I would love to skip the part where there are partings. And especially the extra scene at the back way after the credits.

(Seriously, waiting &$*#$& minutes for a %$#* scene?!)

So, anyway, I went to watch ???? (Happy Birthday) with Jun Wei last Thursday. Sigh. Sad movie. It caught my attention because, well, I’ll admit I noticed ??? (Louis Khoo) in the movie. After reading the synopsis and watching the trailer and the music video, I knew I had to watch it with him The song’s sung by the lead actress in the film ??? (Rene Liu).

Monday was Artello’s Revelation Day cum Pre-Valentine’s Day cum Teresa’s 18th and Lizhen’s 19th birthday celebrations. (What a mouthful!) Jolene and I came up with the idea that all of us (besides Lizhen who claimed that we would puke should we see her in something feminine) should wear skirts that day

Let me tell you: The last time I actually wore a skirt was like a decade ago. So let’s just say I did not feel very comfortable.

I’ve always complained that wearing skirts totally restricts me and my movements. And since I was running late that day, I realised this annoying thing. I could not take large steps! And when I tried to take two steps at a time, I realised the skirt prevented me so I had to jump about the escalator step by step

We gave Ramen Ramen Singapore a shot this time. But imho, once to try is enough My goodness, we made such a din and even embarrassed the poor waiter! It’s a wonder we were not chased out by the management

We had our dinner and then exchanged gifts as we revealed ourselves to our mortals. Turns out that silly Lilin is my angel this round (I was her Santa for our Christmas game) who gave me a box of sweets and an awesome Emily Strange patch!

When I revealed that my mortal was Joan and handed her her gift, she gave this really loud squeal, reached for her gift and grabbed it, removed the plastic bag and immediately insisted that I take a picture of her with my… scrap-card for her.

We then presented Teresa and Lizhen their birthday presents from us!

Then we had cake! Man, it’s really chocolatey, yummy, and totally sinful! I guess that’s where our trainings come in handy

After we settled our bill, we ended up staying outside the restaurant cam-whoring for the next hour. One of the cheap thrills we were having was getting every single one of us to approach a stranger to help us take a group picture. It is really interesting how strangers take group pictures.

(Ohmygoodness. After two hours I can finally start on Valentine’s Day?! )

Went to Jun Wei’s house to watch DVDs. Roswell season 3! He got it! Was supposed to do a marathon and watch as many as we can but because I overslept, we only got to watch two episodes and then had Pizza Hut delivery for lunch. Then he rushed off to work while I shared his cab and walked around Orchard.

Went up to the north for a moment to pass something then made my way to work.

Work. My goodness. I thought it would be pretty easy on me but I guess every couple has the intention of coming and leaving at (more or less) the same time. So let’s just say work was okay.

I met Page after work. It was a rather last minute thing and, apparently, a rather rushed thing since I ended my shift at 10 p.m. and had to be home by 12 midnight. (Daym curfew.)

We went bowling! Haha. The last time I bowled was ages ago. And my bowling is rather inconsistent. We played for each other on the first game.

And we played for ourselves on the second game. Guess my bowling isn’t too retarded. But quite a waste I could not get at least 100 points since I spared the first two

And I will never understand guys who have this facination over the punching machine at the acade. Page’s first two attempts were normal. But this is what he did for his final smack:

HE NEARLY GOT ME FLOWERS! Thank goodness he texted me before getting any because I simply dislike flowers He got me this cool music box and chocolates! I have yet to open the box of chocolates yet so I’ve no idea what kind they are

I can’t believe that amidst all that’s going on, Nelly Furtado is my source of relief from all these… mess.

Anyway, Moonlight is buried in Jun Wei’s garden. We both know she will be somewhere happier. Hammy Heaven, I’m sure.

One of the things I hope to achieve this year in 2007 is to blog more regularly. So far, it’s not going as planned, I’m afraid. It seems like too many things have happened between the last post and this. Too many events, too many feelings. Too confused, lost and hurt. But, gah, I wish I could do something about… everything.

I watched Death Note 2: The Last Name on Wednesday night. It was a nice movie that I’ll probably only watch it once. I think I still prefer the manga better.

I love Absolut Vodka And the SPCT chalet from Wednesday to Friday sure provided me with Raspberri and Vanilla The thing is that I kinda mixed it with ice cream soda not to mention having Chivas with jasmine tea, I got a little too tipsy I got better in the end but not after vomiting, suffering chills and a splitting headache. Meeh. I wonder how everyone could put up with me

Dancing with Joan in the chalet was pretty fun But I hope Mervin won’t go around showing everyone the video he took. It’s really embarrassing I guess that’s where I first heard “Maneater” and “SexyBack” from Lex’s cellphone. Now these two songs are on my playlist.

Friday night was an overnight date with the 7ners plus boyfriends at Albert Court Hotel. It was quite a reunion as Pei Wen and Jun Wei were back from Australia (and since Up swore he would not go for another 7ners gathering till Jun Wei was back, he’s definitely glad the latter’s back) not to mention we have Qing Xiang and Zhao Ming joining us. Gosh, labelled new blood by the others

Perrine, chief organizer of the whole event, along with Elisia, CJ and Pwen had made the rest of us play some couple games which were really fun as well as it broke the ice among everyone. As long as there’s Up and alcohol in the same room, there will always be Up’s drinking game.

I believe no one can ever forget Pei Wen’s reply to the how-are-you? question:

“I’m fine, thank you.”

Due to the previous night’s post-drinking session as well as the fact that I was sneezing (almost) non-stop, I skipped this round

Lacking sleep since Wednesday, I could not stay up with the girls for a chat-and-gossip session. So I kind of nodded off around 4 in the morning as I wanted to go for training the next day. But I woke up with such a lousy leaky nose that I decided that I needed the rest more than the training session.

Sunday was a lousy day. Period.

I had a mock interview for a module on Monday so I had to borrow Jolene’s shirt since we were about the same size. When she found out I was going to wear a skirt (technically, there were shorts beneathe the skirt) she got so excited and demanded to see me in my formal attire I obliged her and here’s the picture Sue helped us take:

After class, I met Jun Wei to watch Night at the Museum. Although it’s funny, it’s a pretty touching movie. I can even say if it was any less funny, I could just bawl in the theatre

I have been wanting to catch this ever since it opened but I realised something: I did not even know when it was going to open! So after hearing every other person going “Man! Did you see…” or “It was so hilarious when…” I decided to go catch it today. (I so needed a break from life!)

I have never, ever laughed so much in a movie before. Not even in a comedy. Every other scene had me doubling over with laughter at Amanda’s goofy-ness. She really is one talented actress next to drama queen Lindsay Lohan. (Which reminds me, next up: Just My Luck!)

By the way, doesn’t the twin look like that dude in O.C.? And doesn’t the friend (Paul) look like Jude Law?

War of the Worlds is one movie that kept my whole body tensed for about 80% of the whole show. I was just told by Nicole that the newspapers gave it a four star rating. Which is really good, really.

Okay, so I admit. I wanted to watch War of the Worlds because of—no, not Tom Cruise, but—Dakota Fanning. I’m sorry, I really do like her a lot.

Anyhow, she isn’t a big star. And most of her lines are usually “Mommy!” or “Daddy!” or “Robbie!” and lines like, “Daddy, you’re scaring me”, “Are we still alive?” and “Is the lightning coming back?” but the ultimate one would be “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

I’m serious. Her screams are so piercing that I think Jun Wei’s ears are still ringing.

Despite all the carnage done, I really liked the movie. However, I don’t think I’ll be catching it again.
