Happy Birthday, my baby Zayden!

Happy Birthday to you, too, Zefeng!

It was pretty easy to entertain people on Saturday since there was a wide screen TV and a home theater system. All we needed to do was pop a DVD in and hey presto!—people are entertained.

Since Guan had to entertain his friends and his parents, their relatives, I just made sure that there are enough chairs, that people have taken their food from the buffet and making sure that everyone has a drink (or two). Inititally, when some relatives and friends came early, Zayden was pretty cheerful and socialized. But as the night went on and more people came, the crowd became a little too overwhelming for him and he clung onto me every now and then.

(While going through my photos, I realized that I am missing photos from my sister’s camera so there are a lot of photos that I can’t add to this post. I guess there will be another post on this event.)

As the birthday song was sung, he got all happy and clapped along.

A few days prior to this celebration, Guan’s father tried to teach Zayden how to blow out his birthday candle. It wasn’t successful so on that day, we coaxed him to attempt to blow. As we were encouraging him, “Go on, Zayden. Blow the candle. Remember how to blow?” He suddenly stuck out a finger and extinguished the flame!

Everyone was so shocked! I quickly checked his finger but it seemed fine. In fact, he looked like he was about to cry with everyone’s outburst

On Sunday, Guan, Zayden and I went over to my old home at noon to help decorate the house. I have to say I was rather surprised because I did not expect my parents to actually decorate! On my first birthday I remember not having any balloons nor streamers/banners hung up around the house. Grandparents really spoil their grandchildren, eh?

(After the party, my mom insisted that I should take a few photos of the decorations. It wasn’t much. But, still.)

Due to the size of the gift, Guan and I initially thought it was a car. But since Guan’s in the airforce, my cousin got him the airplane. Sweet, ain’t it?

Did I forget to mention that Zayden started walking?

Looking at cute little girl items from this Etsy store just makes me wish for a girl sooner than I’d like! Though I wouldn’t dress her up in pink or over frilly dresses and such, the images from the store just makes me want to stare and dream

He turned 22 on Sunday (Yay! and oops—a late post) and we had lunch with my family at Koon Kee Restaurant & Pub and dinner with his parents at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Ngee Ann City.

Anyway, the weekend was spent doing up ATCs and some digital layouts (since Saturday was (inter)National Scrapbooking Day). Do check out the two layouts I made

The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) is nearing and I hope the local scrapbook store have some goodies I can get my hands on

I had almost forgotten one exciting thing! I won something at a giveaway on Michelle’s blog! So exciting! (And I was complaining about not winning anything over the weekend.)

Happy Birthday to my awesome dad!

And that means this domain is 6 years old! Wow. It has been a really long time…

I’m going to blog about Saturday’s dinner. Guan and I headed to Bugis Junction with Zayden Asher to try out this new eatery called LENAS.

I found out about the soft launch of LENAS from an e-newsletter that MOF had sent me. Since they had a 1-for-1 pizza/pasta deal, why not give it a try?

The place was wooden—almost literally. The moment I stepped into the restaurant, what struck me was the smell of wood. The table was made of wood, the chairs were made of wood, even a push-trolley at the side was made of wood. And it wasn’t those furniture that has a smooth finish. It’s like, fresh-out-of-the-workshop-kind. I didn’t manage to take any photos of the restaurant but you can have a look here.

(Don’t mind the poor photos. It’s quite hard to get good light without using flash.)

Guan ordered their signature drink—Iced Mint and Lime Tea.

It’s not too bad. And since I was a member at MOF, we had Crisp Parmesan Fries.

Guan ordered a Pepperoni pizza while I had a Hawaiian. And… guess what? They served them on wooden boards!

The pizzas were pretty good. My pizza crust was a bit too burnt but it was still edible. Zayden made it rather hard for Guan to enjoy his meal though. He kept fussing and wanted to be carried and walked around. I had to cut his (Guan’s not Zayden’s) pizza into bite-size pieces and feed him while he had his hands full with Zayden.

Zayden was still fussing after dinner. So instead of putting him in the stroller, I had to carry him back to the car.

Anyway, yesterday, we dinnered at Astons Specialties and we let Zayden have a go with the fork.

And… I’m not going back to Astons anymore because, nearby, Everything with Fries is much nicer

Dinner was rather fair. The food tasted good but the portions were rather small for the price we paid. But the chocolate cake was a to-die-for. It was made with really rich and good quality chocolate and if I wasn’t on a budget, I would have ordered another just for myself so I could relish every single bite

As I mentioned that the food portions were small, dinner ended pretty early so we just sat, chilled and talked. And before we went our separate ways…

Can someone tell me what “by the hand of Thor” means?

Sunday was a pretty awesome day because friends and relatives finally got to meet Zayden Asher!

He was a sociable baby, not crying while he was being passed from a pair of arms to another. He wasn’t the only baby there though. I finally got to meet Cheyenne! Though she was exactly a month older than Zayden, the difference in their sizes was quite big. Plus, she has these huge pretty eyes. They were bigger than bambi-eyes

As I was busy running between groups of friends and relatives, I did not manage to take much photos

Everyone said Zayden was really cute. Guan and I couldn’t agree any less Since it was a special occasion, he was wearing his new Threadless onesie, (I love this design but my size ran out of stock.) and Guan and I wore our Missing!!! tee.

My dad is super hilarious. He went to KL and Genting with my mom and asked to borrow my Sony digital camera. When they arrived home last night (after four days), I found only 51 photos taken! To think I cleared almost 500 photos (that’s about 1GB) for him

As Mother’s Day is this Sunday, I’d like to wish my mummy dearest a Happy Mother’s Day!

Guan turned a grand 21 last Saturday. I had to wake the poor boy up rather early since we did not really have much time as it’s the betrothal day as well.

I brought him to Swensen’s to have breakfast since neither of us have tried the breakfast menu before. He had french toast with eggs while I had pancakes with scrambled eggs. All I can say is that maccas’ hotcakes are still the best by far.

After breakfast, I went home for a short nap before he came over with two of his aunts for the whole betrothal thing. Then I had lunch at his place before heading out to town to walk around and grab some books from Kinokuniya.

We went back to his place for dinner and promptly fell asleep at around 9 p.m., fully intending to wake up for our 11.15 p.m. show (Wolverine!). However, (even though we said we should set an alarm but did not) we woke up at one in the morning and went something like, “What?! It’s one?! Oh, no! We missed our movie!” and went back to sleep That’s how exhausted we were.

Oh, well. I’ll plan a better birthday next year then!
