With Awesome People

So I chilled with Rey last night, hanging out at East Coast McCafe, drinking super sweet mocha while feeding this handsome stray cat twister fries.

We spent the first part talking about HIMYM and after locating to a bench at the beach, we talked about the old school cartoons of the 80′s and 90′s (Duck Tales, Tale Spin, Duckwing Duck, Beetlejuice, Captain Planet, anyone recall?) then to eurotrash like Floorfilla’s Anthems #2 to #6 (my personal favourite is #5).

I cannot believe how much I can laugh whenever I’m with him. It’s either he cracks me up or vice versa. Every chilling session always ends up with the aftermath of multiple laughing sessions.

And to top the night off (well, wee hours, since we left East Coast Park around four in the morning), he was overtaken by some car (I’m never good with car brands and models) while we were deep in some conversation. Totally stunned, he stepped on the accelerator and just zoomed ahead, crossing to the opposite lane to overtake that car (since it was a two lane road). He probably hit 80km/h, I don’t know, but all I know was that suddenly, we both noticed the hump ahead and he still had time to go, “Oh shit!” before pressing the brakes and allowing the car to actually sail over the hump without scrapping anything.

On a side note, I’m still looking for a temporary admin job. Job hunting is so not easy when it’s not F&B related :?

Sounds like fun besides almost flying over the hump.

I love spending those days with people who you can be so comfortable around. I would probably be so scare in the car though, but its good that it didnt even get scratched!

I remember all of those cartoons! Although I never watched Beetlejuice (just the movie). I’ve been reminiscing a lot about old cartoons and tv shows and things. It’s even better if you can do it with someone else who remembers those things as well.

It sounds like it was a great night. Conversations that end in a laughing fit are really the best!

Wow, you definitely took me back with those old-school cartoons! I watched all of them. “Captain Planet, he’s the hero!” ZOMG I loved him! :P I loved Tail Spin as well!

Ugh, I hate random speed bumps like that.

Good luck with the job hunt.

Men and their “overtaking” cars… they go through phases. I scream at the hubs to slow down when he has the need for speed because I simply cannot afford to fix the car once it’s been damaged. But my brother used to try to “overtake” with a “minivan”.

I remember ALL of those cartoons! Some of them were great, some, not so much. (in my opinion) Bah, anyway… I’m glad that you and him are clicking so well. :) You seem happy, and that makes me happy!

Sounds like you had a good time, well aside from the hump and car thing. I remember most of those cartoons you mentioned. Man how I loved Duck Tales and Tale Spin!

Everyone seems to be job hunting at the moment and there does not seem to be a lot of jobs available.

I don’t see why boys have this whole competitive “ooo someone over took me now I must over take them thing” it is just dangerous really.
